ROCK CITY, MOUNT DIABLO,
DANVILLE, CA
Rock City...kitchen of Native Americans who went there to process their acorns. Their grinding holes go back 5,000 years, perhaps even more...older than the pyramids at Giza. The name "Elephant Rock" dates back to the early 1900s, when tourists knew Rock City as the Garden of the Jungle Gods. As well as a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, it can be a fun place to capture pictures!
It is easy to capture the essence of adventure and exploration, amongst the playful caves, captivating backdrops and dramatic vistas. Rocky ledges and crevices inviting visitors to climb and scramble and climb creates unique opportunities for energizing photos.
Beyond the rocks, the landscape opens up to reveal spectacular views that stretch for miles in every direction.
