A professional portrait photography session in the foothills of Mount Diablo in the East Bay of California can be a dream session in a dream location. The views of the surrounding landscape are breathtaking and can be green in spring, brown in summer and filled with yellow mustard flowers in spring. The bright blue skies, rolling hills, and abundance of yellow gold fields make for the perfect backdrop for high school seniors, families or engagement sessions. If you venture to the top on the mountain, on a clear day, you can even see the San Francisco skyline in the far distance.

 

Most of our sessions are in the foothill and althought there can be a small amount of walking involved, we always try to choose a location that is within easy reach of transport...after all, it's not really a hike we're after during the session. The ideal time to capture Mount Diablo in all its beauty is during the golden hour, when the sun is low on the horizon and images can include a warm, starburst effect on the sky and landscape. The natural light is perfect and creates stunning images against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain. With the perfect combination of light and scenery, your portrait session is sure to be memorable and capture the beauty of the East Bay.
