 Newsletter Nov 2015

Good morning everyone and welcome to the November newsletter.

Lots of images today!!!  I do try to keep the words to a minimum in my newsletter and let the images speak and on this occasion, I think I might have nailed it :-)

Here we go moving swiftly onto November.  I feel like the time from Halloween...through November and Thanksgiving....and then Christmas is the fastest time of year.  There seems so much to do and so many events to plan for and enjoy!

Movember, dare I say it, seems to be gathering pace with teeshirts and events all over the place...November also marks the end of daylight savings time and of course we welcome Thanksgiving and all the fun and festivities that come with this time of year.

I'm excited to let you know that the October offer of 25 holiday cards for photo sessions booked and scheduled during the month is extended to November.  See below for details.

Also the blog this week details a really cool double exposure technique...a quick outline below, but check out the blog for more details on how to set it up for yourself.

Thanks so much for reading the newsletter and happy November.

For the Photographer in You - 'You're Smarter Than Your Camera!' - November - All things we Haven't Covered...bracketing, spot metering and fast shutter release!!!

November will be the last month for 'You're Smarter Than Your Camera!', but don't fret, 2016 will see a new blog 'For the Photographer in You' ..you don't want to miss the new blog, I am so excited about it...I will reveal the details in the December newsletter

For November, i will be covering a few a few little functions that your camera may have and that we haven't covered throughout the year, so get in quick before the end and feel free to look back at all the blogs we've covered in 2015 to remind you of some of the aspects of the camera we have detailed.

The most recent blog, just released Friday covered a very interesting technique capturing an image using both flash and ambient light as a double exposure.  A little dated now as halloween was yesterday, but I created the images below with a flash and shutter speed of 1/8th second.  The background lights are spider lights and are about 1 yard behind the ghost lantern.  The flash fired and froze the lantern, but the slow speed allowed the ambient light from the spiders to be recorded.  I also moved the camera slightly as I was exposing and this gave the direction of the ambient light recorded.

In fact in the last image, the ghost was also illuminated.  This resulted in the ghost being party captured as frozen, by the flash, but party as ambient giving a 'ghostly' spread of it's image!

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Wedding Training Course!

Last month I mentioned that I was going on a wedding photography training course...and WOW!   I enjoyed every 'intense' minute.  Just wanted to share a few of my favourite images with you.  Partly because I love them, but also because the weather and venues were out of this world...enjoy.
